The scope also included specialized fax, call recording and analysis, payment workflows, and legacy-system retirement.

Commercial printing company

Replacing a failed print system under a contract deadline.

The situation

An unsupported print solution failed at a commercial printing company. Multiple customer contracts depended on that system, and the business had a short window to move to a modern solution or risk losing those contracts.

The work

Replace the failed legacy solution with a modern print workflow, carrying forward the production requirements tied to the company’s contracts. The project had to address the immediate failure and the need to move away from an unsupported system.

The priority

Keep the required print work and contract deadlines at the center of the replacement. The business needed a usable modern solution within the time available.

Lumber company

Tracking lumber from grading into the mill.

The situation

A lumber company needed a better way to track inventory as material moved from grading into production. The inventory record needed to reflect when a log had entered the mill for processing.

The work

Apply RFID tags as lumber was graded, then use readers at the mill to detect a tagged log entering for processing. Connect that read to the inventory system so the log’s status changed to “in process.”

The result

Mill-entry reads moved tagged logs into an in-process inventory status, connecting the physical movement of material with its inventory record.

The situation

The organization needed to move from an out-of-the-box accounting system to a full industry-specific ERP platform. Growing device and user needs also called for clearer standards for Microsoft 365, Windows, identity, encryption, and device setup.

The work

Lead the software implementation and the move to an ERP designed for the company’s industry. Alongside that work, align Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, enroll devices, migrate user profiles, standardize Windows 11, enable BitLocker, and document a repeatable setup process.
